Questions from Parents

Do I need any coding experience?
None at all. Each workshop is written for a grown-up and child reading together. We introduce Lua scripting gently, starting with copy-paste steps and gradually explaining what each line does.
What age is it suitable for?
Episode 1 (the Obby) works well from age 7 with a parent. Later episodes involve more scripting and suit ages 8-10+ better. Confident readers and kids already familiar with Roblox can do more independently.
Do I need to do episodes in order?
No, each episode stands alone. But if it's your first time with Roblox Studio, Episode 1 is the gentlest start and needs no scripting at all.
What do I need to get started?
A free Roblox account and Roblox Studio, download both for free at create.roblox.com. A Windows or Mac computer is needed. That's it.
Can my child publish their game for others to play?
Yes! Once you've built your game in Roblox Studio you can publish it to Roblox for free so friends and family can play it online. We walk you through that at the end of each episode.
