TinkerCAD Mod Studio
Build a 3D model in your browser

A little model maker for the 3D-print series. Lay out 3D shapes on a grid, tick the model steps you want, read a broken log and choose the fix, then download a real STL you can import into TinkerCAD or send to a 3D printer.

Make your own art and sounds: draw sprites in Pixel Studio and make music or sound effects in Sound Studio, then bring them into your project.
Ember
Ember says: a 3D print starts as a model made of triangles. This studio turns your grid into those triangles and writes a real STL file, the same kind TinkerCAD and every 3D printer use. Your work saves automatically.

Lay out your scene

Pick an object below, then click squares on the grid to place it. Put the Player where you start and a Goal at the end. Click a square again, or use the eraser, to remove it.

Your scene so far

Each shape becomes a solid in your 3D model. The mini map below is a bird's eye view of where they sit.

What is in the scene

    Add scripts

A step changes your whole model, like sitting it flat or adding a base. Tick the ones you want and the Studio applies them. Start with Sit flat and Fit the bed so it is ready to print.

    Your scripts

Each ticked step is applied when the model is built.

    Live preview

This is the start of your model.stl file. Every shape becomes triangles, listed as facets.

    โœ… Ready check

A model prints cleanly if all of these are true. The Studio fills most of them in for you.

How this maps to real 3D printing

model.stl is a standard mesh: a list of triangles that describe your model.

Sit flat drops the model so the lowest point is at z=0, ready for the printer bed.

Fit the bed keeps the model inside a 100 mm print bed.

Import it: in TinkerCAD, choose Import and pick model.stl (or open it in a slicer).

Print it: ask a grown-up, then slice and print.

      The model log

Click the red line, then choose the fix. Plain lines are normal.

      What is the fix?

      Download your project

This bundles everything into a zip: model.stl and a README. Import the STL into TinkerCAD, or open it in a slicer to print.
