Terraria World Studio
Build a world in your browser

Paint and dig tiles, build a biome, drop in chests, then walk the world to test it. Plan your files, read a tModLoader log and download your world. All in the browser, so it works on a school computer.

Make your own art and sounds: draw sprites in Pixel Studio and make music or sound effects in Sound Studio, then bring them into your project.

Biome palette

Tip: paint the ground first, then stone, then trees on top. Turn on Wall mode to place a background wall, which is what stops enemies spawning.

Challenges

◻Paint at least 8 water tiles
◻Plant at least 3 trees
◻Place a chest
◻Dig a tunnel (6 or more dug tiles)

Place an object

Pick an object, then click the map on the World editor tab to place it. Objects sit on top of the ground you already painted.

Place some tiles, then check the biome your world reads as.

How objects work

In Terraria a chest, a torch or a door is a real object placed at a tile. In TEdit you place them the same way. Chests can hold loot, torches light a room, and doors let the player walk through a wall.

A biome is counted from the blocks around it: enough sand makes a Desert, enough snow makes a Snow biome, and plenty of plain grass and trees is Forest.

What good looks like

A healthy launch lists every mod it loaded, then loads the world with no red lines. If a line is red, it usually means a mod is the wrong version for your game, or the folder is nested twice.

Always keep a backup copy of a world before you edit it. If something breaks, you put the backup back and try again.
