Stardew Mod Studio
Build a world in your browser

A real little map engine for the Stardew World Workshop: paint with layers and tile rules, fill and undo, take on challenges, walk-test your world, set a doorway warp, write your files, debug a SMAPI log, save or share your world, then download your mod. It runs on a locked-down school computer.

Make your own art and sounds: draw sprites in Pixel Studio and make music or sound effects in Sound Studio, then bring them into your project.
Ember
Ember says: this is the same job as Tiled and Content Patcher, just friendlier. Your world saves automatically, and you can save named worlds and share a link to one. Try the challenges for a quick win.

How this maps to Tiled

In Stardew a doorway is a Warp value on the map: fromX fromY toArea toX toY. Set the two doorways below, then test the walk. A doorway with no way back strands the player.

Map: Farm

Map: Cabin

Test it

The Farm door is at tile 8,4. Its value 8 4 Cabin 2 4 means: step on 8,4 and arrive on Cabin at 2,4. The Cabin door does the trip back.

manifest.json builder

content.json builder

This loads your map over the game's Maps/<name> without touching the original. Format tells Content Patcher which fields you use.

Download your mod

This bundles everything you made into a real mod folder and downloads it as a zip: manifest.json, content.json, your map as a .tmx, and a README. Drop the unzipped folder into Stardew Valley / Mods.

Tip: the target area must already exist. To send the player to a brand-new area, register it in Data/Locations first (see Episode 8).
