The short version: QuestLog makes zero network calls. Your quests, habits, level, and calendar all live on your device only. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and nothing is ever sent anywhere, including to us.
QuestLog is made by JVDesignStudio, an independent studio in the United Kingdom. You can reach us at joshhyyymakes@gmail.com or via jvdesignstudio.co.uk.
Nothing. The app has no accounts, no sign-in, and no forms, and it makes no network requests at all, so there is no server for your information to reach, not even ours. All fonts and other assets are bundled inside the app rather than fetched online.
Everything you create in QuestLog — quests, board columns, habits and streaks, your character's level and XP, and your settings — is stored in local storage on your device only. Deleting the app deletes this data with it.
If you choose to connect your calendar, QuestLog reads events directly from your device's own calendar app (Google, iCloud, Outlook, or whichever you use) via the standard Android calendar permission, and turns them into quests on your board. This read happens entirely on your device: your calendar data is never uploaded, transmitted, or shown to us or to any third party. You are asked for this permission only when you choose to connect a calendar; QuestLog never requests it in the background.
QuestLog can remind you about dated quests with local notifications scheduled on your device, timed from the due dates you set yourself. No notification content is sent anywhere to make this work; the app schedules them directly with Android.
The app contains no adverts and no analytics or tracking of any kind. No advertising identifier is read, and no usage data is sent to us or to any third party.
QuestLog is a general productivity tool suitable for all ages. With no ads, no accounts, no chat, and no data leaving the device, there is nothing that would gather information from a child.
QuestLog may request: Calendar (only if you choose to connect one, read-only, local processing only), Notifications (to show quest reminders you've set), and background-start permissions so scheduled reminders survive a phone restart. The app does not request internet access, and does not need your location, camera, microphone, or contacts.
Because everything is stored locally, deleting the app removes all of your data, including any calendar-derived quests. There is nothing for us to delete on a server, because nothing was ever sent to one.
If the app ever changes how it handles data (for example, if we add an optional cloud sync in a future version), we will update this page and the "last updated" date above before the change ships.
