Site usage (pages visited, time on site, browser type, country) through Google Analytics (GA4), only if you accept cookies. What you type into a form, delivered by Formspree: your newsletter email address, or your name, email and message in the contact form, or a first name, role and short note in the About page feedback form. We have no accounts, no sign-up, and no server-side storage of your games or creations.
Your games, settings, and progress are saved in your browser's localStorage and never leave your device unless you export or share them.
We use Google Analytics (GA4) with anonymised data and consent mode that stays denied until you choose. You can accept or decline when the banner appears, and change your mind anytime with the Cookie settings link in the footer. So the first page loads quickly, your browser may open a preview connection to Google's servers as the page loads, which shares your IP address with Google before you decide; no analytics data is sent until you accept. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
Three forms send what you type to Formspree, which delivers it to us by email. The newsletter sends your email address so we can send studio news (about one email a week). The contact form sends your name, email address and message. The feedback form on the About page sends a first name, your role and a short note. We use each one only for what the form says. Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time. We publish a feedback note only when it was marked with permission, and never a full name, an email address or anything about a child. Formspree's privacy policy: formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy
Share links encode your game or creation into the URL; we don't store shared content on any server. Exported HTML files stay on your device only. Shortened share links go through is.gd, which sees the link you shorten.
Outbound links (Instagram, YouTube, itch.io, Buy Me a Coffee) take you to other sites with their own privacy policies. Donation or merch pages never run inside our site.
This website itself shows no adverts. Some of our mobile apps offer optional reward adverts served by Google AdMob (Biscuit Tin Clicker, Cozy Cafe Match, Sky High With Friends). Google may collect device information such as your advertising identifier for those adverts; we never see or store it. Cozy Cafe Match also asks the Open-Meteo weather service for fixed London coordinates so the cafe window shows real weather; your location is never requested or sent. QuestLog, JVDS Arcade, Game Maker and Pocket Crew contain no adverts, and the apps themselves carry no analytics of their own; like the rest of the site, their landing pages may use Google Analytics, and only after you accept cookies. QuestLog can also back up your board to a private GitHub Gist if you add a token of your own, which we never see. Each app has its own policy page with the same statements: Biscuit Tin, Cozy Cafe, Sky High, QuestLog, Arcade, Game Maker, Pocket Crew.
JVDesignStudio is made for young creators, including children under 13. We do not require any personal data to learn, create or play: no accounts, no names, no required tracking. Children should use the site with a parent, guardian or teacher. The newsletter is meant for grown-ups (parents and teachers), not for children to sign up alone. If a child's email address was submitted by mistake, a parent or guardian can email us and we will delete it. For the apps, each per-app policy above includes its own children section with the same promise.
You can ask what data we hold about you, ask us to delete your newsletter address, or withdraw cookie consent anytime through the Cookie settings footer link. Questions? Email hello@jvdesignstudio.co.uk
